NAGA CITY — SM City Naga was recently awarded as the Shopping Center of the Year for the Medium Category during the 20th Outstanding Filipino Retailers and Shopping Centers of the Year Awards Night of the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) which was held at the Solaire Resort & Casino in Parañaque.
Being the first SM Supermall in Bicol, SM City Naga has become the destination mall in Naga City.
Mall Expansion
In an interview with Engr. Wesley Villanueva, the mall manager of SM City Naga, SM hopes to put up 6 malls in the region, one for each province, in the coming years with SM City Naga as the “regional mall” for the whole Bicol Region. One of which is the ongoing construction of the 3-level SM City Legazpi in Legazpi City, Albay.
SM City Naga plans to expand with its 9-storey BPO building with additional retailers and parking area in between the Bicol Central Station and the current mall, with plans to expand at the rear side of the mall all the way to the front of St. Joseph School.
Along with the expansion of the current mall, it will bring in more global brands, one of which is Uniqlo, and more shops and retail outlets.
