NAGA CITY — In an interview over a local radio station, City Tourism Officer Alec Santos stated plans for the city to redevelop Plaza Rizal and Plaza Quezon.

The plans include building a ‘dry fountain’, closing the Kinastilyohan Street to motorized vehicles, converting the former PNP Station 1/Task Force Comet office at Plaza Quezon into a Tourist Assistance Center, and more.

The redevelopment will start in phases, according to Santos, starting in August of this year, with December as the target for the redeveloped plazas, with a combined budget of Php 9 million for the Plaza Rizal, and a further Php 13-15 million allocated for other redevelopment purposes such as green spaces and sidewalks, both from the national and local government.
